:D Be Happy! :D

Okay so my post is about Happy music.
Happy Music can be a slow kind of happy or a fast kind of happy. For my vision of a happy piece, I would have an easy paced (but not slow) tempo. My main dynamic would be Metzo Forte. For articulation, I wouldn't use staccato or legato. Just normal notes. My pitch would be high. Being Happy makes me think of spring and being joyful and dancing (So typical, I know). But that's what I invision (don't know how to spell that) when I think of Happy.

Be Happy!

  1. Woah, hmm...I always thought that happiness was very hard to convey, because, if this assignment is about pushing the extremes to get a point across, what can we really do...?

I'm going to play devil's advocate for a bit, but wouldn't staccato work to some degree, if you imagine some sort of bouncy/playful kind of joyfulness?

Now, happiness...could also be associated with excitement (ebullience!), which would be fast...does that mean, if the piece was slower, it would convey contentedness? Would that seem a bit mediocre?

Anyway, things to think about - I think this one's very tricky! I look forward to hearing your piece! :)
